Rhonda Silence grew up in Grand Marais, moved away for 20-plus years and worked a variety of jobs before returning in 1995. She served as editor of the community newspaper for 16 years before making the jump to the news department of multi-media WTIP Community Radio in October 2016. When she’s not gathering news or writing for Northern Wilds, Rhonda volunteers with Girl Scouts and the Cook County ATV Club. She mostly enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, five grandkids and two dogs.
