Aginjibagwesi Biiwide: Goldfinch Visitor

After the long biboon (winter) months, I miss our bineshiinh (bird) relatives that spend ziigwan (spring) and niibin (summer) building their wadiswan (nests) in my backyard. I am always minwendam (happy) to clean off and rehang all the bird feeders every zaagibagaa-giizis (May), welcoming them back after a long biboon (winter) away. Recently I was out in my gitigaan (garden) working on weeding and planting when I saw a flash of ozaawi (yellow) hopping among the mitig (tree) branches above me. I had put the bird feeders up only the day before. 

My first bird relative visitor was an aginjibagwesi (goldfinch) who flew from the tree branches to the bird feeder. After about niishtana (twenty) minutes, they were joined by another aginjibagwesi (goldfinch). As I continued to garden and do my yard chores, they kept babaamise (flying) from the trees to the bird feeders. To honor and memorialize this special visit, I have completed this new piece, Aginjibagwesi Biiwide (Goldfinch Visitor).
