Summer Theater Festival
July 18 @ 12:00 am - August 11 @ 12:00 am CDT
The Grand Marais Playhouse will be performing A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, and The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On. Shows will alternate each night, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Created by Dean Regan, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline follows her climb to stardom from her hometown in Virginia to the Grand Ole Opry, Las Vegas, and Carnegie Hall. The Marvelous Wonderettes takes place at Springfield High in 1969, with Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy. The girls sing their way through the greatest girl-group hits of the ‘60s, while saying goodbye to one of the Wonderettes as she searches for success and happiness on her own. Act two finds the girls back together at their 20-year reunion. The classic pop and rock hits of the ‘70s provides the perfect soundtrack for these old friends to catch up on the places life as led them, all performed with their own marvelous spin. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students; can be purchased online or at the door. Performances are held at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais.
