LunaFest is a traveling film festival, first brought to Cook County by the Violence Prevention Center in 2011, featuring short films made by women, intended for all who care about universal issues. This year’s LunaFest features eight short films by filmmakers with roots in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore and the United States. These short dramas, comedies and documentaries will tug at your heartstrings, make you smile and make you think, all while supporting the services and programs of the Violence Prevention Center. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais.
